TAMMI J. DRIVER
, ESQUIRE

|
Gift of Life Adoptions’
attorney, Tammi J. Driver, practices exclusively
in the area of Adoption Law.
She is admitted to the Florida Bar and
the U.S. District Court, Middle District of
Florida.
She is also a Licensed Mental Health
Counselor with over 13 years of experience in
child welfare, mental health, and juvenile
justice, including significant experience in
foster care and adoptions.
Ms. Driver received her Juris
Doctor with Honors from the University of
Florida where she was a Teaching Assistant for
the Legal Research and Writing Department, and
Founder and President of the Animal Law
Association.
She earned her Master’s degree in
Educational Psychology with a concentration in
Community Counseling from the University of
Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and her Bachelor of Arts
degree in Psychology, magna cum laude, from
Western Kentucky University.
As an attorney, Ms. Driver began her legal
career with Gulfcoast Legal Services where she
practiced family law representing victims of
domestic violence. She then joined the Advocacy
Center for Persons with Disabilities as a staff
attorney.
Prior to joining Gift of Life Adoptions,
Ms. Driver practiced as a civil litigator in the
areas of personal injury, property damage
subrogation, construction defects, and
employment/EEOC claims.
During law school, Ms.
Driver completed internships with the Unified
Family Court in the Sixth Judicial Circuit and
the Office of the Public Defender in the Eighth
Judicial Circuit.
She also spent a summer as a
Florida Bar Foundation Fellow with the Guardian
ad Litem Program with the Legal Aid Society of
the Orange County Bar Association.Prior to earning her law
degree, Ms. Driver worked as a therapist,
clinical supervisor, and administrator for
several mental health and child welfare
agencies.
She also owned her own practice, where
she provided therapy to children in therapeutic
foster care, educated and trained foster
parents, and counseled birth parents making
adoption plans.
Ms.
Driver is currently a member of the Florida
Adoption Council, St. Petersburg Bar
Association, Clearwater Bar Association,
American Bar Association, and Suncoast Mental
Health Counselors Association. She is also on the Board of
Directors of a non-profit organization that
provides child welfare and mental health
services to children and their families.
