Targeted Adoptions

A Targeted Adoption is one where the Adoptive Parents have already identified a Birth Mother and need assistance with completing their adoption plan. Gift of Life Adoptions provides targeted adoption services to prospective parents who have an identified birth mother when:

• The adoptive parents reside in Florida and the birth parent(s) sign surrender paperwork in Florida. Complete adoption services can be provided to both the adoptive parents and the birth parent(s). 
• The adoptive parents reside outside of Florida and the birth parent(s) sign surrender paperwork in Florida. The home study and post placement supervision will need to be completed within the adoptive parents’ state of residence. Gift of Life Adoptions will provide complete legal services for the birth parent(s) as well as placement services for the adoptive parents, including meeting all guidelines and requirements for the Interstate Compact for the Placement of Children.
• The adoptive parents reside in Florida and have an identified birth mother residing outside the State of Florida. In this case, the birth parent(s) would sign the adoption papers in their own state of residence and Gift of Life Adoptions would provide Independent Home Study services, Post-Placement supervision and assistance in the Interstate Compact for the Placement of Children (if required) to the adoptive parents.
